PatternSpeak Privacy Policy
PatternSpeak is a daily English speaking practice app designed to help users practise sentence patterns by listening, repeating, recording, and playing back their own speech.
Information handled by the app
PatternSpeak does not require an account or login. In the current version, practice information is stored locally on your device, including:
- Your selected practice program and practice progress.
- Your reminder and voice-practice settings.
- Voice recordings you choose to make during practice.
Microphone access and recordings
PatternSpeak requests microphone access only so that you can record and play back your English practice. Your practice recordings are stored locally on your device. PatternSpeak does not upload your voice recordings to a PatternSpeak server.
Listening and text-to-speech
When you use the listening feature, PatternSpeak uses speech functionality available on your device to read practice sentences aloud. The availability and behaviour of device voices may depend on your device settings and installed or system-provided voices.
Data collection, tracking, and advertising
In the current version of PatternSpeak:
- We do not collect personal information through the app.
- We do not use advertising or advertising identifiers.
- We do not use analytics or tracking services.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not operate a backend account or cloud storage service for your practice data.
App purchase information
If you purchase PatternSpeak through the Apple App Store, the transaction is processed by Apple under Apple's applicable terms and privacy practices. PatternSpeak does not receive or store your payment card details.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual practice recordings within the app and reset progress for the selected program in Settings. Deleting the app from your device removes locally stored PatternSpeak app data associated with that installation.
Changes to this policy
If PatternSpeak changes how it handles information in a future version, this policy will be updated accordingly.
